Agnes Gervacio

Chief Executive Officer

What are you responsible for in MDI?

Sales and operations.

How does your responsibility impact customers?

I introduce efficiencies in processes, ensure governance is in place. This way, we can put more energy into strategic aspects of the business and still have energy left to live fulfilling lives.

What is a typical work day for you?

I arrive in the office at 9AM, attend meetings, check up on teammates, see customers and partners, clear out all my emails, and, in general, lighten up the place!

Do you have a morning/evening routine to set yourself up for a productive day?

I am an early riser, and I get exercise first thing in the morning. Pilates, gym. I’m learning how to run. I bring my son to school, then myself to the office. I watch the news, listen to the news, read the news. I put in 30 minutes a day to read a book or a magazine.

What do you do on weekends or on vacation?

Weekends are for my family. I watch my daughter’s volleyball games. I bring my son to symphony practice — he plays the bass clarinet — and guitar lessons. Go on a trek if the family can. I travel with friends and/or family.

What is your favorite thing about working in MDI?

The people. The talent. The founder — seriously. Myla Villanueva is a rockstar in my world.

What do you want to achieve at work? In life?

I want to contribute to the team that will propel MDI to be the world-class company we envision it to be. In life, I want to have happy, healthy kids who contribute to this country. Plus maintain my best friend status with my hubby.

Best piece of advice you have ever given or received?

To treat mistakes as “tuition”. Now let’s get it fixed and move on.
